Aids: Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is an extremely difficult condition to diagnose, and treat for that matter. Its origin is remains misunderstood, despite the fact the some 3 to 6 million Americans suffer from this condition. That equates to approximately one in every 50 people. Additionally, this does not account for people who have yet to be definitively diagnosed and may be currently suffering from this affliction. People with fibromyalgia may look well, but feel miserable.

What is Fibromyalgia?
Fibromyalgia is a chronic disorder that is characterized by point-specific muscle pain, tenderness, and fatigue. These points are located on both the upper and lower body ; responding to pain from even the slightest of applied pressure. Some practitioners consider fibromyalgia an arthritis-related condition. However, it is important to understand that arthritis causes inflammation and damage to the joints, muscles, or other important body tissues; fibromyalgia does not. Its cause is also unknown.

Some physicians believe that fibromyalgia may be the end result of a stressful or emotionally traumatic experience. Yet other practitioners think it may be linked to illness or repetitive injury. Regardless of these opinions, fibromyalgia can be considered a syndrome rather than a disease as its signs, symptoms, and medical problems are sporadic and not related to a single, identifiable cause.

Signs and Symptoms:
The primary signs and symptoms of fibromyalgia often resemble those of another condition, rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Like arthritis, fibromyalgia also presents itself with pain, stiffness and fatigue. However, fibromyalgia sufferers usually present secondary symptoms that are not muscle or joint related. Listed below are the most typical primary and secondary symptoms: sleep disturbances, morning stiffness, headaches, irritable bowel syndrome, painful menstrual periods, numbness or tingling of the extremities, restless legs syndrome, temperature sensitivity, cognitive and memory problems (sometimes referred to as "fibro fog"), or a variety of other symptoms.

Of all individuals diagnosed with fibromyalgia, 80 - 90 percent of patients are women of childbearing age. Men, children, and the elderly account for the remaining 10 - 20 percent.

Standard Treatments:
Treatment of fibromyalgia is difficult because, again, the cause is still unknown. Therefore there is no target for treatment, except for addressing underlying disease conditions. Relaxation techniques, stress reduction, exercise, sleep therapy, stretching, massage, and hot and cold applications are all recommended to treat the pain and stiffness associated with fibromyalgia.

Prescription medications can be useful to treat insomnia (anti-depressant medications), pain (corticosteroid injections), and depression (SSRIs). Alternative therapies may also provide some use, as they focus on underlying factors that can contribute to the development of fibromyalgia, such as nutrient deficiencies, oxidative stress, and neurotransmitter disregulation.

Anatrin addresses the nutritional deficiencies commonly seen in fibromyalgia patients. Anatrin's formula effectively replaces critical nutrients lost by the many physical and psychological stressors caused by this syndrome. Existing literature confirms the deficiencies of intracellular magnesium, B12, whole body potassium, and intracellular ATP.

In addition to these dietary inadequacies, people with fibromyalgia often have problems regulating sleep patterns. Anatrin not only addresses primary nutrient-based deficiencies, it also helps to regulate sleeping patterns and enhance serotonin levels while boosting intracellular ATP. In fact, many top physicians who regularly treat FM recommend the same ingredients found in Anatrin, as each is backed by extensive scientific study.

What's inside each bottle of Anatrin?
Magnesium for the resolution of common fibromylagia symptoms. Ascorbigen and Broccoli Powder: Ascorbigen is one of the most common medicinal compounds, called indoles, released when cruciferous vegetables are cooked. These types of indoles can induce Phase I detoxification in the liver. As well, these chemical constituents promote significant reductions of physical impairment.

Rhodiola rosea Extract for treating functional fatigue and mild cognitive decline. The compounds in this plant have also been shown to increase ATP production. Ginger root Extract for the relief of pain. Ginger is considered equally effective as an adjunct treatment, showing additional relief over conventional medication alone. A number of clinical studies have supported 5-HTP's role in the production of serotonin in patients with fibromylagia. Melatonin is a naturally produced biochemical that is secreted from the pineal gland at the base of the brain, which controls circadian rhythms and plays a major role in sleep cycles. Numerous studies have shown a link between melatonin levels in patients with fibromyalgia. Malic acid is a naturally occurring chemical found most notably in apple juice. It helps improve absorption of some nutrients like magnesium, as well working to reduce pain and tenderness of pressure points.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: I heard that FM (Fibromyalgia) is inherited and contagious. Is this true?
A: Recent studies suggest genetic predisposition could play a role in the condition; however, to what extent is yet to be determined. There is no current evidence suggesting that FMS is contagious.

Q: I think I have Fibromyalgia, how is it diagnosed?

A: Laboratory or x-ray findings are not needed to diagnose FMS, however, often times numerous tests are conducted to rule out any underlying conditions. According to the American College of Rheumatology, the criterion requires a history of widespread pain [minimum 3 months]. The pain pattern must encompass both sides of the body, be located above and below the waist and also include the axial skeletal region. As well, on digital examination pain must be noted in at least 11 of 18 characteristic tender point sites.

Q: I have Fibromyalgia. Is there anything that can aggravate its symptoms?
A: Yes. The symptoms of pain, stiffness and/or soreness are often aggravated by cold or damp weather, anxiety or stress, over-use of muscles (repetitive activity), and poor sleep. Conversely, a sedentary lifestyle has also been shown to activate symptoms.

Q: Can exercise help with my Fibromyalgia symptoms?
A: You can and should exercise if you currently suffer from fibromyalgia. When muscles remain inactive, they become much shorter and begin to lack tensile strength. In addition, your bones, tendons, ligaments, and cartilage all become weaker as a result of inactivity and are more prone to injury. Daily exercise must be acheived regardless of pain for optimal symptom management. You should incorporate a routine that includes stretching, weight bearing and cardiovascular exercises daily. Nutritional supplementation can also provide your body with the nutrients it may be lacking to restore energy levels and to provide for proper physiological functioning. Acheiving proper nutrition is as essential as any workout routine.

Q: How soon can I expect to see results?
A: The results derived from Anatrin are dependant on the individual and condition severity. While a large number of customers yield immediate results, others may see results in only a few short weeks. Generally, we advise that you use the product continuously, for a minimum of 45 - 60 days.

Q: Are there any side effects when taking Anatrin?

A: As with all nutritional supplements, there is potential for reaction. Progressive Health ensures that all potential conflicts and side effects are listed on the product information pages. However, we strongly recommend consulting with your physician if you suffer from any pre-existing conditions (other than fibromyalgia), known allergies, or if you are currently taking any medications. Based on customer feedback, order history, and regular product overview, there has yet to be a report of any serious side effects resulting from the implementation of Progressive Health products into existing treatment programs.

Testimonials

"I am amazed at my success with your product Anatrin. I was very skeptical before I purchased, but after using it for three or four weeks I feel a lot better. In fact, I was using a wheelchair when I had to go to the mall or when I would be walking far and I have been able to tough it out lately. No more wheelchair and a definite decline in my muscle pain. Once again, I am amazed and I wanted to say this is a GREAT product."
